See how hard co-op is to implement in a PvE card game? This is all you had to do. It's super fun too, even though the mechanics are not half as fun as they would have been with HEX. Ugh... The lost possibilities...

Yep. Multiplayer not only has UI challenges, but play slows down when you're waiting for other human players. Supposedly, not only was there no good UI fix, but it wasn't actually fun.

To be precise, the meaning was "We have tried different ways to play co-op but we didn't liked any and you wouldn't either, it's very hard to do right, if at all"

Personally, I see those as merely reasons they find to justify not making multiplayers because they sucks at developing. Gaming taking too long is a garbage reason. If people were that impatient, they would have played something like Hearthstone, or Arena BO1. Hex players are pretty patient by default. And if they enjoy a mode, they will play it. Like come on, aren't Hex Ent board game developer as well? Board games all have incredible down time between players, and some heavy board games can last up to 6 hours. People will play the game they like no matter the length. I would play 2 matches of a 3 hours board game or 12 matches of a 30 minutes board game, the length doesn't matter as long as I am having fun. I really don't they they can use length to justify not having multiplayer with their background; it's not like they were mobile game developer known to develop short games.
